Shourya Swaroop
a student of City
Montessori School's,
Gomti Nagar Branch has
been selected to
represent India at
Global Young Leaders
Conference 2008 (GYLC)
on the basis of his
exemplary academic
achievements and
awareness about global
issues. He is the only
Indian delegate to the
conference which will be
held in Washington DC
and New York from 15th
to 26th June 2008. He
will get a chance to
participate in a Global
Summit and interact with
senior dignitaries in
President George Bush's
government. He will also
be exposed to latest
trends in global
finance, diplomacy and
many other global
issues. This conference
has been organized by
Congressional Youth
Leadership Council (CYLC).
Today this brilliant
student accompanied by
his parents talked to
press reporters and
explained to them the
significance and
importance of the
conference.
While speaking at the
press conference Shourya
Swaroop gave
the credit of his
unprecedented success to
the outstanding CMS
academic atmosphere and
the blessings of his
parents. He specially
appreciated the Home
Visit Scheme of CMS
under which teachers
personally visit the
homes of students and
provide them personal
guidance and motivation.
He said that the
school's efforts of
developing global,
spiritual and humane
attitude in students
helps in boosting up
their self confidence,
thereby preparing them
to face the challenges
of life with strength.
Shourya is highly
excited about this
educational tour to USA
and expressed his faith
that this tour would
help him achieve his aim
of establishing a new
and just world order.
Addressing media persons
at the press conference,
founder of CMS and
renowned educationist,
Mr Jagdish Gandhi
informed that
during the twelve day
conference scholars,
scientist and experts
will discuss ways and
means to solve many
global problems in the
world today. More than
three hundred and sixty
nine members of US
Congress will offer
their services during
the conference as
Honorary Congressional
Board of Advisory.
Delegates from more than
a hundred countries will
benefit from the
conference by
interacting with people
from many varied
cultures, languages and
regions of the world.
This will help in
fostering global
understanding and
brotherhood in them.
Mr
Gandhi further said that
during the conference
Shaurya will get a
chance to familiarize
himself with the latest
trends in global
economy, politics and
technology. He said the
conference would provide
Shaurya a unique
opportunity to look
closely at the working
of international
organizations like
United Nations, and meet
senior bureaucrats and
dignitaries including
ambassadors from various
countries. Shaurya would
also get the chance to
see world famous
movements and memorials
like Thomas Jefferson
Memorial, Franklin
Delano Roosevelt
Memorial and other
famous places.
Mr
Gandhi said that
CMS lays
special emphasis on
developing its students
a Total Quality Persons
and World Citizens, much
above the narrow ideals
of caste, creed,
religion and
nationalities. He said
that the Global Young
Leaders Conference too,
will prove to be a great
opportunity for our
student. Mr Gandhi said
that unless schools
provide them knowledge
of various global
problems, the students
won't be able to
understand their cause
and finding their
solution. Today, the
foolishness of some
politicians has drawn
about a fourth of the
world towards
destruction. We are
literally stationed on a
stockpile of 36000
nuclear bombs collected
by five powerful nations
of the world who have
made all preparations to
bequeath their deadly
possession to the future
generation. In such
circumstances we as a
modern school owe this
world a responsibility
to provide such
education to our
children which relates
to the affairs of the
age. |
