City Montessori School,
Lucknow added another
feather its cap when its
ex-student, Kshitendra Verma
of CMS Station Road branch
was selected for the IAS
(Indian Administrative
Service) by qualifying in
the prestigious civil
services examinations.
Earlier two CMS students
namely Girivar Dayal Singh
of CMS Mahanagar and Ajay
Gupta of CMS Station Road
qualified for the civil
services and brought glory
to the institution. In this
way, with 3 students of CMS
qualifying in the IAS
examination 2008, a new
chapter has been added to
educational history by the
institution. At a press
conference, Kshitendra Verma,
a bright star of CMS Station
Road Branch met the press
reporters along with the
Founder-Manager of CMS, Shri
Jagdish Gandhi and informed
them about his outstanding
achievement. Addressing the
press reporters, Kshitendra
Verma said that his teachers
had always inspired him to
move forward in life and
never say fail. Happiness
and sadness, failure and
success were an integral
part of life. On this
occasion, Kshitendra said
that continuous hard wok is
the key to success and it is
because of this that he has
realized his goal.
Speaking
to the press reporters,
Kshitendera Verma
gave credit of his success
to his parents and teachers.
He informed that he had been
a student of CMS Station
Road from class VI to XII.
He passed his class X - ICSE
examination 1997 with 76%
marks and his class XII -
ISC examination in 1999 with
72% marks. At the
Meritorious Students'
Felicitation Function
organized by CMS every year,
the mothers of the topper
students are weighed in
fruits and flowers. This
ceremony inspired him to do
something really great so
that his parents would also
be honoured. His mother, Mrs
Madhur Lata Verma always
motivated him to move ahead
and make great achievements
in life. His father, Mr
Rajesh Kumar Verma has a
cloth business and always
inspires him to adopt high
ideals.
Recalling his days in CMS,
Kshitendra gives
full credit to his teacher,
Mrs Vandana Gaur who was a
great motivating force in
his life. When he joined CMS
in class VI as a Hindi
medium student, then Mrs.
Gaur spotted his brimming
talent and advised his
parents to charge his medium
from Hindi to English. He
also thinks fondly of his
Founder-Manager, Mr Jagdish
Gandhi and his teachings
especially the example of
Thomas Alva Edision who
failed 9999 times but
succeeded the 10,000th time.
The whole world was
illumined with his invention
of the electric bulb.
Nothing is impossible with
hard work, continuous
effort, proper direction and
a desire to succeed. Besides
this, he also attributes his
success to the analytical
abilities developed in him
by his maths and physics
teacher, Mr Brijendra Kumar
Vaish.
Kshitendra Verma further
said that after
passing out of CMS, he did
his B.Com and M.B.A. and
then competed for the civil
services securing high
success with 466 rank.
Earlier, he had been
selected for MBA course in
Liverpool, England but due
to his father's illness, he
did not join. His favourite
subject is ancient Indian
history and he loves to
watch historical movies like
Ben Hur. He is also
interested in Sufi music
which is a symbol of
Hindu-Muslim unity.
Kshitendra said that for his
IAS preparation, he depended
upon self-study rather that
any formal coaching. His
study hours were 7.00 am to
11 am in the morning and 7
pm to 11 pm at night.
Besides, he also attended to
the family cloth business
with his father. In the last
4 months, he devoted all his
time to writing answers and
solving questions of
previous years. For his
interview, he prepared by
reading national and
international newspapers.
Kshitendra said that the
moral and spiritual teaching
in CMS helped him to remain
always calm and well
balanced with a positive
outlook and ready to take up
new challenges.
Beaming with happiness, Mrs.
Vandana Gaur,
teacher-guardian of
Kshitendra Verma said
in an emotional tone that
Kshitendra had not only won
honour for himself but had
made the whole CMS family
proud of his achievement.
Every CMS student is looking
upto him as an ideal and a
role model.
On
this occasion, the CMS
founder, Mr Jagdish Gandhi
said that CMS tries
to make every child a gift
of God to mankind and a
pride of the human race.
Every day, CMS students are
creating new records of
excellent results and adding
to the glory of the
institution. Mr. Gandhi
advised the students to
always have a positive
attitude and aim high in
life. They should never be
deterred by failures. If
they are unsuccessful, they
must take advise from
parents, guidance from
teachers and work with
greater force. Success will
certainly fall in their lap
sooner or later. |
