“Every child is potentially the light of the world" Home

CMS sees every child as the light of the world
The cornerstone of CMS educational philosophy is a firm belief in the statement, “Every child is potentially the light of the world, but can also be the cause of its darkness; wherefore the question of education must be accounted as of primary importance." CMS believes that the school has the most important role in shaping human potential. A modern school must, therefore act as a lighthouse of society, providing meaningful education, spiritual direction, guidance and leadership to its students, parents and society.

Creating lifetime learners
We believe that the destiny of man is shaped in the classroom. To prepare the leaders of tomorrow to face the challenges of the 21st century, we are preparing children for a world outside the classroom that is constantly changing and challenging.

It is no longer enough for workers to learn one set of skills and hope that would keep them on their jobs for a lifetime. The highly competitive global economy expects employees to adopt new technical skills, or they will be left behind. CMS creates lifetime learners who are trained to constantly upgrade their skills and knowledge.

CMS children are conscious of their own strengths and weaknesses. They want to learn all the time because they are involved in competition with themselves and not with someone else.

CMS — a place where every child excels
The academic and co-curricular achievements of CMS students have placed the school amongst the foremost educational institutions of the world. Its students participate in a record number of national and international activities organized to broaden their horizons and in particular to equip them with an international outlook and a global vision.

CMS Vision and Mission

"Every child is potentially the light of the world"
CMS sees every child as the light of the world.

CMS Mission
"To make every child a gift of God to mankind and a pride of the human race."

Creating lifetime learners
We believe that the destiny of man is shaped in the classroom. To prepare the leaders of tomorrow to face the challenges of the 21st century, we are preparing children for a world outside the classroom that is constantly changing and challenging.

Universal Values

School must lead society
CMS believes that a school must lead society, that school and family should come closer to each other and join hands in giving value education to the children at home and at school. They must both set and meet new standards of ethical conduct.

Moral education gets priority
Another very important aspect of CMS education is priority given to moral education tegether with physical and intellectual education. The moral development of individuals equips them with a sense of mission, hope, vision and a firm basis to appreciate, be eager to acquire and be able to use knowledge, skills and physical capabilities in a way that will be most helpful to themselves and to others.

Three characters of man
CMS believes that man has three characters: (1) innate, (2) inherited and (3) acquired. In the meaningful education model, CMS asserts that while we cannot alter the innate and inherited character, quality education can alter the acquired character for the advancement of the individual.

Values are taught at CMS
in a non-intrusive way to its religiously diverse student body from the Hindu, Muslim, Christian, Buddhist, Jain, Sikh, Baha´i, Parsi and other faiths, CMS has shown that a school can teach spiritual values and divinity without infringing upon religious identity of individual students .

CMS regards education as the greatest service to God
CMS believes that among the greatest of all the great services that can possibly be rendered by man to Almighty God is the education of children, building their character, and inculcating in their tender hearts the love of God.

CMS - Preparing children to meet the challenges of this age
CMS realizes that the main reason for the weakening of the social fabric and the spread of global unrest is the meaninglessness of today's education due to (1) godlessness, (2) ignorance, (3) confusion, and (4) conflict. Therefore, CMS believes that the purpose of today's education should be the redemption of mankind from these four ills.

Education of parents
CMS organizes meaningful and educative 'Parents' Days', 'Mothers' Days' and 'Divine Education Conferences' for education, guidance and training of parents for making every child good and smart, a gift of God to mankind and pride of human race.

CMS believes that education must act as a powerful instrument of profound social transformation
CMS believes that education is a continuous and creative process. Its aim is to develop the capacities latent in human nature and to coordinate their expression for the enrichment and progress of society by equipping children with spiritual, human and material knowledge.

Creating TQPs
CMS holds the distinction of pioneering the introduction of Quality Control Concept (QCCs) in education. The basic concept is to ensure the development of every student as a 'Total Quality Person' (TQP), to motivate them to become conscious citizens of the country and the world.

CMS has developed a model of education
in which values clarification goes a step beyond critical analysis and intellectual appreciation by connecting it to volition and a desire for improvement.

Nurturing World Citizen

Peace publications and music
CMS has also been active in generating peace-related literature, for example, booklets and brochures with titles such as “Peace Quotations”, “How the World Treats Children”, “Peace Education at CMS”, “World Unity for World Peace”, “Young Voices for Peace”, “Building Bridges of Unity & Peace” and “Arise, Awake & Unite”, among others.

Building defences of peace
For over four decades now, CMS has been relentlessly working towards building bridges of unity and constructing the defences of peace in the minds of its students as also the public at large. The theme of “peace, communal harmony, tolerance towards all religions and world unity” pervade all aspects of school life. CMS is probably the only school to have a full-fledged World Unity and Peace Education Department (CMS WUPED).

Building a culture of peace
Every CMS function begins with a World-Peace Prayer Ceremony. Children dress up in the national costumes of all the UN member countries and holding aloft their respective national flags, they pray, one by one, first for peace in the country they are representing, followed by, for peace in the world, and finally all of them pray “May Peace Prevail on Earth.”
