CMS Aliganj awarded Computer Excellence Award at National Level 2005(Prize money of 8,50,000/-)

CMS Aliganj was awarded the national level 'A' category Computer Excellence Award given by the Department of Information Technology, Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Govt. of India, as well as the state level Computer Excellence Award. Mr. A. Raja, Union Minister for Communications and Information Technology, presented Mrs Gauri Khanna, Senior Principal, CMS, Aliganj Sector 'O',with a total cash prize of Rs. 8.5 lakh (Rs 7 lakh, a certificate and medal as national level award and 1.5 lack rupees cash prize and certificate as state level award) at the All India Prize Distribution ceremony organized at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi

Some highlights from the past 17 years
734 CMS students have secured 90% and above marks in ICSE / ISC Board Examinations 2007.

A record number of 399 CMS students qualified for admission to various Engineering, Medical and Professional Colleges in India and abroad in 2007.

Since 1990, an unprecedented number of 3,519 CMS students have qualified for admissions to various Engineering/Medical and other professional courses in India and abroad.

CMS students have achieved outstanding success in several international Maths, Computer, Science and Robotics Olympiads.

8 CMS students have qualified at the Regional Level Maths Olympiad in 2007. Out of 19 students selected from UP, 9 Students are from Lucknow, and 8 students belong to CMS.

In National Talent Search Scholarship (NTS), of the 566 selections from Lucknow.

328 students were from CMS. This number represents nearly two and a half of the total number of selections from all of Lucknow schools combined and the largest from any school in India.

At the Commonwealth International Essay competition organised by the Royal Commonwealth Society, London, essays of 6 CMS students were awarded commendation certificates.

19 students of Class X and 17 students of Class VIII from CMS were awarded the National Talent Search Merit Scholarships in 2007 out of a total of 54(27 students of Class X and 27 students of Class VIII) students selected from the whole of Lucknow. They receive a merit scholarship of Rs. 500/- pm awarded upto research level.

4 students were selected for the coveted Singapore Airlines Merit Scholarship worth approximately Rs.12 lakhs each. 52 CMS students have been selected for this highly coveted scholarship up till now.

City Montessori School, Lucknow, convened a series of public meetings to bring together the heads of all the religions of the city in its school buildings.

CMS teachers and students took out several peace marches in sensitive areas of Lucknow and appealed directly to the people of the city to refrain from violence.

Outcome: Given its proximity to Ayodhya, Lucknow escaped violence.
